Don’t talk out of both sides of your mouth. Avoid careless
banter, white lies, and gossip.—Proverbs 4:24

A gadabout gossip can’t be trusted with a secret, but
someone of integrity won’t violate a confidence.
—Proverbs 11:13

Troublemakers start fights; gossips break up friendships.—
Proverbs 16:28

Listening to gossip is like eating cheap candy. Do you
really want junk like that in your belly?—Proverbs 18:8

When a leader listens to malicious gossip, all the workers
get infected with evil.—Proverbs 29:12

Watch the way you talk. Let nothing foul or dirty come
out of your mouth. Say only what helps, each word a
gift.—Ephesians 4:29

Though some tongues just love the taste of gossip,
Christians have better uses for language than that. Don’t
talk dirty or silly. That kind of talk doesn’t fit our style.
Thanksgiving is our dialect.—Ephesians 5:4

Keep a clear conscience before God so that when people
throw mud at you, none of it will stick. They’ll end
up realizing that they’re the ones who need a bath.
—1 Peter 3:16
